Getting started
The basics of preparing your image.
Open a JPEG or static PNG in the editor, choose your requirements or editing tools, and prepare the image. Review the result and its technical checks, then choose Save to download it.
One image at a time. Batch processing is not available in the current editor.
Current desktop workflows have been checked in Chrome and Edge. Firefox, desktop Safari and real iOS Safari and Android Chrome workflows have not yet been fully validated. A responsive layout does not by itself confirm full mobile support.
Formats & compatibility
Supported files and output options.
Open one JPEG/JPG or static PNG at a time, and prepare JPEG or PNG output. WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF and animated PNG (APNG) are not supported. Batch processing is not available.
Yes, in either direction. PNG supports transparency; JPEG does not. Converting a transparent PNG to JPEG requires your explicit permission to use a white background.
No. GIF and animated PNG (APNG) are not supported. Use a JPEG/JPG or a static PNG. WebP, HEIC and AVIF are also unsupported input formats.
The editor does not offer color-profile selection or promise that embedded profiles will be preserved in edited files. An unchanged original keeps its original bytes; edited images are re-encoded. Review the resulting colors before sharing.
When an original is used without changes, its bytes and original metadata are preserved. Edited files are re-encoded by the processing pipeline. Do not rely on universal metadata preservation or removal; review files before sharing them.
File size & dimensions
Limits, resizing, and image quality.
The current editor accepts files up to 20 MB (20,000,000 bytes), with no side longer than 8,192 pixels and no more than 24 million pixels in total. A supported extension alone does not mean a damaged image can be processed.
Set a maximum file size and the result is measured against it. File-size targets are not always achievable with the available preparation methods. If a target cannot be reached, try a larger limit or smaller dimensions.
Yes. The manual editor lets you select a crop, resize and enlarge an image. Enlargement changes pixel dimensions; it does not restore missing detail. Undo and redo let you revisit your edits.
Yes, with manual resize. Turn off “Keep proportions” to set width and height independently. This can stretch the image. Keep the option enabled when you want to preserve its proportions.
In file requirements, set an exact or maximum value for width, height, or both. This preparation preserves proportions: it does not crop, pad, stretch or enlarge. If the requirements conflict with the source proportions, the editor reports that instead of silently changing the image. Use the manual tools when you need a different composition.
JPEG compression can change visual detail. PNG and JPEG use different encoding methods. A technical check does not judge how the image looks, so use the preview and compare the original with the current result before saving.
Processing & privacy
How your images are handled.
No. Image processing happens on your device in your browser. Your image files are not uploaded to imagedit.
Download saves the selected result directly from your browser. There is no server download link. Save the result before closing or reloading the tab.
It explains on-device image processing. Website hosting may still involve access logs, such as IP addresses. Operator details, hosting practices and the full website Privacy Policy must be finalized before public launch.
Exporting & downloads
Review and save your prepared image.
The resulting format, dimensions and file size are checked against the applicable requirements before the editor marks it ready. Finishing a processing step alone is not enough. A file that already meets the requirements can be selected with its original bytes unchanged.
imagedit checks the technical requirements you select. Another website may apply additional rules, so a verified result is not a guarantee of acceptance by that website.
Choose Download again while the result is still open in the editor. After closing or reloading the tab, reopen the original image and prepare it again.
Access & pricing
